ABOUT

Hi! My name is Kara and I am the creator behind Kundalini Candles.
My intention is to create beautiful reminders of how powerful we are through what I love most...candles. All my candles are created to represent my values, meaning they are vegan, cruelty free, non-toxic and eco-friendly.
My backstory:
Leading up to my junior year of college, I formed a very dissatisfying vision of how my life was going to play out. I was scared of the path ahead, and I felt I had little control. Somewhere within me knew I was not stuck, and my life had potential.
In June of 2018, I went through what most people would call a spiritual awakening. It was nothing I sought after, and it was surely nothing I was prepared for. I was guided by someone to read the book "The Power" by Rhonda Byrne. Every word in that book deeply resonated within, and even though I had little understanding of the ideas she put forth, I knew it was the truth. From that point on, I started listening to spiritual teachers about the law of attraction. Eventually, I found Abraham Hicks who undoubtedly played the biggest role in my journey to starting this business. I went from feeling fear of life to complete excitement and eagerness for the road ahead.
One morning in December of 2018, I woke up and decided I wanted to be a candle maker. I had never made a single candle, but I was on the path to following what made me excited, and this was it. I committed to the idea and learned everything I possibly could about making candles and being an entrepreneur. I launched my Etsy business in April of 2019.
A lot of people ask me what Kundalini is and why I named my business Kundalini Candles. The concept of Kundalini originated from Ancient India. It is believed to be a life force stored at the base of the spine. From my awareness of Kundalini, this energy slowly becomes stored while adopting beliefs that force us to live in fear and survival. Throughout our adult lives, this energy may start to unravel and rise through the chakras raising our conscious awareness. While I am no expert on Kundalini in a cultural or historical context, I am deeply familiar with this energy rising within. I like to think of my candles as an extension of myself and my experience with this energy evolving my perspective of life. My candles will always be an offering of love and light that I have gathered on this journey.
I am so grateful of you being here and reading my story. My favorite part about running Kundalini Candles is getting to connect with people like you. Thank you.
